Siobhan and Mike’s Santa Fe Wedding

Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe will always be a favorite wedding location for us. It embodies so much of what we love about photographing New Mexico weddings. This Santa Fe wedding was no exception with the mariachis, colors and an amazing couple. This was such a beautiful intimate wedding with the couples closest friends and family! We always say that pets, children and adorable grandparents are some of our favorite things about weddings… well this wedding had all three of our favorites. Thank you Siobhan and Mike for being so welcoming and kind, it was an honor to be a part of your day!

Lauren and Charles, Loretto Chapel

Welcome back to Blue Rose beauties! #WeddingWednesday is always a call for celebration here in our little corner of the internet, but you know our love for New Mexico weddings isn’t confined by a single day! How could it be, when every famed sunrise in our gorgeous state gives us new inspiration by being the first day of a couple’s new life together?!

The sun peeking up on the morning of Charles and Lauren’s new adventure was definitely no exception. We’re still eagerly awaiting the sunshine and blooms of a southwestern spring here, of course, but in the meantime, we’re cozying up to the fond memories of their intimate day. Held by the old-world architecture of the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, Lauren and Charles pledged their boundless love for each other in just each other’s company.

Now, we would die for a grand, 300-people, bustling celebration just as much as the next wedding lovers, but this elopement? Absolutely stole our hearts. Delicate gold detailing throughout the holy sanctuary complimented the lace appliqué of Lauren’s gown, shining alongside her newlywed glow. With Charles in a perfectly tailored suit of grey, the couple created a shimmering little universe to say their I Do’s in — one we’ll be dreaming of forever. And how could we not?! Being there to capture every moment from the sun’s first bean through the stained glass windows, to the last second when Lauren and Charles sped off into the distance in a sleek vintage town car was the honor of a lifetime.

So get comfy! We’re bringing you with us as we relive the unforgettable magic of this day — grab a cup of tea and you can too.

Nikki and Ethan, Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town

It’s #WeddingWednesday and we are so ready to celebrate by highlighting a very special couple that have touched our hearts immensely! Typically we like to start off our blog posts by stating our thoughts about the special couple that we have had the pleasure of working with and their union but alas we have stumbled upon the most beautifully written excerpt that perfectly encapsulates their love story and who are we to re-imagine such a masterpiece?! Get comfy, give it a read and then enjoy some of the most magical wedding day photos ever. You can literally feel the warmth radiating from these images! We feel so lucky to have been there to capture it all and we can’t even begin to comprehend the journey that these two are in for. We will be there cheering them on all the way…

We began our story after meeting online in January 2016 and hilarity immediately ensued. Our first date was at an ice cream shop in Brooklyn. Nikki, just recently moving to Brooklyn to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, thought there was only one Ample Hill Creamery location and ended up at the wrong one. After realizing the snafu (via a series of very confused text messages), we successfully met and Ethan remembers vividly how fast his heart was racing when a gorgeous, stylish Nikki walked through the door! From that moment we have not been able to get enough of each other, going on 5 more dates in the next two weeks. Nikki knew this would be something special after our spontaneous third date where we enjoyed brunch and a long walk around Dumbo, Brooklyn which fittingly saw us get caught in the rain. While Nikki remembers being sopping wet with her makeup running and still feeling like the most beautiful girl to Ethan (which is still how he makes her feel today), Ethan remembers not having any clue that her makeup was running because he was too busy smiling like an idiot at her while hoping that their walk would never end.

What we love most about each other is our ability to openly and honestly communicate; because of that, we work well as a team, deeply respect each other and have come to learn that when the going gets tough we can unflinchingly rely on one another. We have an unshakeable deep and loving bond and are thrilled to unite together for life.

Our adventures have taken us all over the globe, through leaking roofs and career pitfalls, into two apartments, and (barely) through two trips to Ikea. We’ve been to Paris, Spain, Nice, Cannes, Cancun, Copenhagen, Costa Rica, Reno, San Francisco, and so many more places – but to this day we talk about how unbelievably lucky we were to both be in Brooklyn in January 2016…

Las Cruces, New Mexico

Las Cruces City of Crosses is full of history, culture and the most amazing majestic mountains. Yvonne and Peter fully embraced New Mexican traditions and sprinkled them with soft, rustic and colorful vibes. Their reception at New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum was a perfect venue for a celebration in the heart of the New Mexican desert. We were so grateful to be a part of such a beautiful day!

Britnie and Derek

Britnie and Derek’s outdoor wedding by the Rio Grande River at Hyatt Tamaya couldn’t have been sweeter! The couple and their entire day was nothing short of sweet and swoon-worthy. We loved photographing their day, including an emotional first look and later, a very ebullient bride who couldn’t stop smiling after her I-do’s!
