Adrian and Peter, Santa Fe Elopement

Summertime weddings in Santa Fe are sun-kissed and sing of romance. Adrian and Peter’s wedding added prominent modern touches and breathed fresh life into the ancient walls of the Loretto Chapel. Between Adrian’s lively jumpsuit hybrid, Peter’s prominent blue jacket, and their uniquely belted cake, this novel wedding compares to none other.
The wildflower centerpieces kissed their reception with class and delicacy, and sweet four legged friend trotted into our hearts wearing a white tutu!
We’ll always remember Adrian and Peter for their affectionate interactions and for the laughter they shared in the old Santa Fe Plaza.

Amber and Joe’s Santa Fe, New Mexico Wedding

Amber and Joe’s Santa Fe wedding was so whimsical. Each detail was unique and representative of this sweet couple. The southwest day was still and hot; dressed-up and ready to watch Amber and Joe marry. Beauty radiated throughout—rippling through Amber’s veil, glistening in her flawless jewelry, and contrasting against stucco and storm-cloud-hued doors. Unconditionally supporting Amber were four lovely ladies in mesa pink and wild sage green. The messy elegance of nude, blushing garden roses touched every element of this southwestern wedding, neatly tying up any loose ends. Small yet strong details breathed life into this magical day, and though Amber’s necklace winked with the grace of Cinderella’s stagecoach, she remained a princess at the stroke of midnight. Scroll through their wedding photos below to see the wrought iron gates open, hear the ancient bells ring, and watch Amber and Joe dance into happily ever after.

Megan and Christopher, Santa Fe Elopement Wedding

We fell in love with this Santa Fe elopement – its intimacy, the heavy rain clouds, and the bated breath it held for Megan and Christopher. Overcast skies in Santa Fe smell like anticipation; on this day, the anticipation cascaded down through Megan’s long veil and illuminated Christopher’s confident smile. Marisa’s Millefiori florals handsomely complemented the coral-clad bridesmaids and smiling delight twinkled in the eyes of all who attended this beautiful wedding. See their wedding photos below to drink in the pure happiness of Megan and Christopher’s New Mexico elopement.

3 Reasons Why You Should Consider A First Look

Happy #WeddingWednesday Blue Rose Beauties! We have had the pleasure of capturing weddings for over two decades now and like a fine wine they just keep getting better with time! Weddings have been perfected in ways that maximize intimacy and simplify the celebration timeline and doing a First Look is a magnificent & modern example of the process evolving into perfection.

A First Look is a pre-arranged moment before the ceremony where the couple get to see each other for the first time in a private place, away from family and friends. This creates the perfect environment for us as photographers to capture that moment- just for them. They are becoming immensely popular and we want to share our top 3 reasons why you might want to consider it for your celebration!

1. Savor Every Second

We want you to live in the moment and be present with your guests. A First Look gives you the flexibility to get a lot of your portraits out of the way so you can get back to celebrating with those that you love most while also giving you more meaningful alone time as a couple on your wedding day. It is a win- win situation! You simply cannot beat the joy and excitement of that initial first glance, shared between just the two of you.

2. Cool, Calm & Collected

Emotions expressed, without stress or worry is exactly what a First Look can be! Your wedding is one of the biggest and most significant days of your life and we have found that a lot of couples can experience some nerves just before the ceremony. Even those that thought they would be stoic suddenly get a little weak in the knees. However, time and time again we see the stress melt away just after the couple sees each other for the first time at their First Look. It is almost as if a weight is lifted off their shoulders and the rest of the wedding day activities become so much more enjoyable and carefree.

3. More Stunning Photos

As photographers we are bias, but this is our favorite reason for considering a First Look. We want to have every opportunity to capture exquisite photos for you and doing a First Look gives us significantly more time to do just that. Carving out this time also allows us to photograph you while your hair and makeup are at peak perfection and the tux is freshly pressed and looking sharp. Logistically speaking, doing a First Look will also give us more time for family and wedding party portraits after the ceremony capitalizing on that beautiful golden hour sun for any last outdoor candid photos. You will never regret taking extra care to ensure each moment is captured perfectly with no rushing involved.

We realize doing a First Look is not for everyone, but we hope you have a better understanding of the positive outcomes of spending a beautiful moment together with no pressure and no one watching. Very relaxed and genuine emotion will inspire photos that capture a historic moment in time, in an intentional and ultra-intimate fashion!

Jenna and Jerome, Hyatt Regency Tamaya

Welcome back Blue Rose Beauty! It’s #WeddingWednesday and we have something so good in store for you… a southwestern charm like you’ve never seen before! This perfect summer day started off with the lovely couple tying the knot at a very special and traditional Catholic Mass- it was intimate and beautiful and we are so beyond honored to have witnessed their union among those they love most. After the service they had their loved ones head north to the truly magical and sacred land of the Hyatt Regency Tamaya, to the house of the Hummingbird. Yes we said, Hummingbird! This outdoor venue, a section of the Tamaya Resort & Spa, resembles an ancient Pueblo ruin and features a stunning view of Tuyuna Mesa. This space feels so special – it has an incredibly peaceful aura about it making you feel far from the hustle and bustle of normal, everyday life.  Jenna + Jerome’s reception was bright and airy with unique and intricate details nestled in each and every direction. Think a horse drawn carriage, hanging arrangements dripping with vibrant-blooming- florals, guests dining under blankets of decadent greenery,  and literal hummingbirds fluttering about- the setting couldn’t have been more romantic…our hearts!  Major shout out to Camilla of Corazon Events, she planned their celebration with perfect precision and brought their vision to life with love. The AH-MAZING Agave Florist at Nobb Hilll pulled out all the stops to provide a major floral moment and needless to say we are here for it ALL. We can’t make this stuff up there are photos to prove it.. and we hope you enjoy each capture as much as we did! Cheers to this very sweet + wonderful couple- we are all wishing you a lifetime of endless love and happiness together.
